I had been taking into consideration the Fresno Fair and also the good reputation for the fair. I started to assume Fresno citizens in 100 years ago going to the fair. However when i pictured the families getting their biggest veggies and animals into Fresno to become judged with expect a blue ribbon, my ideas were attracted to Fresno area citizens that may not or wouldn't submit their entry in to the fair. Fresno's shameful good reputation for prejudice A number of my nearest buddies are Armenian and Japanese, other medication is Latino. I'm able to honestly say that i'm personally embarrassed with Fresno's dirty good reputation for management of unprivileged. Many Armenians have forged a brief history of Fresno Among my buddies particularly has shared his connection with becoming an adult in Fresno being an Armenian American. Although his experience is sort of skewed because his grandfather produced a business that eventually grew to become a national company and was offered for huge amount of money. Despite his fortunate upbringing, my pal can share tales from the desperate treatment he received in Fresno like a youthful boy. His father would be a officer that protected the people of Fresno from crime, however his family bought a home inside a neighborhood where Armenians were allowed to reside. My pal didn't realize at that time that his parents were restricted to certain communities. He just assumed that everybody in the neighborhood been Armenian. The truth was that Armenians in Fresno needed to either reside in the southeast part of Fresno or they resided on vacation on the farm where their neighbors couldn't judge them or alienate them. Support beams from the community Today site visitors to Fresno can rapidly observe that Armenians make up the support beams of society in Fresno. A vacation to the courthouse will disclose that lots of idol judges in Fresno have Armenian surnames, additional idol judges can't be immediately recognized by their surname. Among my personal favorite idol judges is really a no-nonsense Armenian-American that labored her in place like a deputy da to become Superior Court judge in Fresno County. Despite as being a female along with a minority which has bee ostracized through the community of Fresno, this judge has transformed individuals issues by working harder and being in keeping with her values. Actually this judge continues to be considered to be harder on prosecutors than defense lawyers because she knows their job and she or he needs these to perform their job as she did when she'd a job. Foremost legal students Superior court judge Edward Sarkisian can become among the foremost legal students in California. The truth that he is not hired towards the condition Top court only has been postponed because he truly thinks within the rule of law and doesn't network just like a socialite. Judge Sarkisian is known for being the judge that the defense attorney or district attorney really wants to be designated to once they will argue an elaborate legal argument about evidence or even the relevant situation law for that situation. Judge Sarkisian will be either acknowledged as an excellent legal scholar over the following couple of years or her will me referred to as such within the years after his retirement, in either case the citizens of Fresno are fortunate to count him among their citizens. Japanese People in america in Fresno Simultaneously that lots of Armenian were settling into Fresno and creating a existence on their own after running mistreatment and discrimination within their homeland, many Japanese were thriving within the San Joaquin Valley. Some Japanese had found California in 1869 to succeed using the discovery of gold. The first Japanese settlers needed to break Japanese law to depart because workers weren't allowed to depart Japan until 1880. By 1890 there have been a reported 2,038 Japanese within the U . s . States using more than 1 / 2 of them residing in California. The majority of individuals immigrants initially visited Hawaii then ongoing onto California. Sugar farms in Hawaii offered the chance to operate and cut costs until they might manage to proceed to California and also have a better existence. Between 1900 and 1910 many Japanese gone to live in Bowles in Fresno County and Livingston in Merced County. Developing farms. By 1920 japan population in Fresno County was a lot more than 5,000. Youthful Japanese males labored within the fields and migrated from Los Angeles as much as Sacramento. Companies that offered migrant Japanese populations flourished in Fresno. Immigration of Japanese women into California through arranged partnerships swelled. Temporary Detention Center in Fresno May 6, 1942 marks among the pitch-dark days in Fresno history. Which was your day the first Japanese-American showed up in the temporary detention center north of Fresno, CA, in the region now referred to as Pinedale. Japanese People in america that possessed their very own farms, companies and offered as local clergy were put together and jailed in Fresno before they moved onto more permanent housing in Tulare County. Ultimately there have been ten permanent internment camps within the U . s . States. Amache in Colorado Gila River in Arizona Heart Mountain in Wyoming Jerome in Arkansas Manzanar in California Minidoka in Idaho Poston in Arizona Rohwer in Arkansas Topaz in Utah Tule Lake in California The majority of the Japanese People in america which were received in Fresno were moved towards the Tule Lake internment camping. That camping because referred to as most contentious camping of all the internment camps. As numerous Japanese People in america were being imprisoned in Tulare County their siblings were fighting for that U . s . States and dying within the war against Japan, yet Japanese People in america were treated like crooks. Because of the truth that japan had settled in California first, they'd the most powerful roots and influence here. Community leaders and business proprietors were treated like crooks. Because they sitting within the internment camping in Tulare County these were restless and wanted to return to their lives and companies. Obviously they protested the therapy within the internment camps, they weren't crooks but support beams in our towns. Despite their treatment throughout The Second World War, many Japanese People in america were eventually launched from internment camps and established themselves within their particular towns. A dear friend who's a nearby attorney along with a person in a prominent local family knows only too well the devastation that internment camps had on Japanese People in america. Nobuo Renge was along the way of acquiring his pharmacy degree in the College of California at Bay Area when his education was cut short by his mandatory detention within an internment camping. Dr. Renge eventually grew to become a pharmacist and operated a pharmacy in Fresno for pretty much half a century. Dr. Renge's relatives grew to become maqui berry farmers and lawyers in Fresno plus they still practice today. The consummate spirit of Fresno citizens Fresno's history is going to be forever marked through the struggle of Armenians and Japanese People in america. Today with Latino People in america receiving treatment as second class people, we only hope that Hispanics is going to be renowned for their contribution to Fresno.
I was raised in Mariposa outdoors of Yosemite National Park. There have been many strengths of becoming an adult in Mariposa, including the truth that everybody understood everybody when i was becoming an adult. We never locked our doorways and that we always reliable people. Among disadvantages to becoming an adult in Mariposa was that everything was separated with a considerable distance. There have been no buses which means you either needed to have your personal vehicle or perhaps a ride to obtain a friend's house in order to social occasions. Fiat Gucci edition For many people, a vehicle defines them Although I think about a vehicle like a tool to complete my goals others think about a vehicle to become a ornament or an alternate way to define their personality. I am unable to question this method, as lengthy as individuals people are able to afford the vehicle they feel expresses the way they feel i quickly see not a problem together choosing the vehicle they need. I see no problem having a person buying a Gucci edition of Fiat's new Eco-friendly two door coupe whether they can pay the payment plus they believe the vehicle suits their personality. Actually I respect the individual that purchases a vehicle with less options and fewer capacity with increased style and character. This is actually the ultimate illustration of self expression. Fresno County Sheriff Raids Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
There are about 20 medical marijuana dispensaries operating in Fresno County. On June 1, 2011, it was announced that Fresno County Sheriff ‘cracked down’ on the dispensaries in Fresno. The dispensaries are legally selling marijuana to people who have recommendations from doctors, for the most part. Following the June 1st raids, the sheriff announced that the purpose of this particular raid was irregularities in the paperwork and a possible violation of the law, by the dispensary.
The sheriff has frequently cited crime around the dispensaries and neighborhood complaints as the reason for scrutinizing the dispensaries. To be completely candid, as a defense attorney I am aware of about four cases involving dispensaries. In three of those cases, the dispensaries were victims of commercial burglary. The fourth case did not directly involve a dispensary, that case involved a person who grew marijuana and sold it to dispensaries. Unfortunately, the owner of the marijuana garden shot and killed a person who was attempting to steal the marijuana.
I am not aware of a single instance of neighbors of dispensaries being victimized. I am not saying that it has not happened, I am saying that it must not be rampant or we would have heard about it in the news. In fact, if there were a bunch of victims around the dispensaries, I bet they would parade them around and put them out as the poster-child for why the dispensaries should be shut down.
I personally do not have a recommendation for marijuana from a doctor and I do not use marijuana. I have a friend who has brain cancer, he uses marijuana for medicinal purposes. He struggles with pain and loss of appetite, marijuana alleviates those symptoms as well as other symptoms. His use of marijuana is not phony, or based on false pretenses, you can see the indention in his skull from one of the surgeries he underwent to remove part of tumor in his skull.
Appropriate Allocation of Resources
The primary issue I have with ‘cracking down’ on the dispensaries is the scarcity of resources. Everyone has heard about the sheriff closing floors of the jail and releasing inmates due to overcrowding. As a direct result of the releases, auto theft in Fresno has skyrocketed. There have been murders committed by defendants who should have been incarcerated at the time they committed the murder. Some defendants have stolen cars, been arrested and released, then stole more cars only to be released again. I know of one defendant who was arrested and released eight times that I know of.
I do not know how many deputies participated in the raids on dispensaries on June 1st, nor do I know exactly how many inmates were released due to overcrowding on June 1st, however it seems the two figures are related and should be considered. Even if only one deputy participated in the raid on the dispensaries, which is highly unlikely, that deputy could have been at the jail, guarding inmates. It is far more likely that ten or twenty deputies participated in the raids. I am not criticizing the deputies themselves, those officers put their lives on the line and deserve respect.
I do question allocating deputies to raid dispensaries while letting inmates out because the jail is short staffed. Los Angeles County has ten times the population of Fresno County, with more than 20 times the number of marijuana dispensaries than Fresno. They also have jail overcrowding, however they do not release felons, only inmates that are charged with non-violent misdemeanors.
Sheriff Is Ultimately Responsible For Safety in the County
Within the City of Fresno, Fresno Police Department and the Fresno County Sheriff are responsible for law enforcement and crime control. Fundamentally, the sheriff of each county is responsible for law and order for the entire county. In most counties, cities incorporate and divert some of the revenue that would ordinarily go to the county. The city uses that revenue and other sources of revenue to provide for specific services like sanitation, police, and fire. The fact that a city incorporates, does not relieve the sheriff from the duty to uphold the law and protect citizens, it merely adds an additional agency to help with law enforcement within city borders.
The property crime rate in Fresno is twice the national average. Crime density is much higher in Fresno, compared to the national average. Nationally, about 50 crimes occur per year, for every square mile of area, in Fresno, 305 crimes every year per square mile. Violent crime occurs in Fresno at nearly double the national average, your odds of being a victim of a violent crime in Fresno is 1 in 122. Nationally, a person’s odds of being a victim of violent crime is approximately 1 in 240.
I think the Sheriff should focus on protecting the citizens of Fresno from violent crime or reducing property crimes, instead of ‘cracking down’ on marijuana dispensaries. The deputies that raided the dispensaries probably passed multiple meth labs, prostitutes, and gang infested neighborhoods, on their way to raid the dispensaries.

ORGANIC STONE FRUIT JUBILEE IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 18, 2011
Clovis will hose the 2011 Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee on June 18, 2011. As residents of Fresno and Clovis, we enjoy the convenience of living in America’s fruit basket. Considering that we live in the middle of the harvest bounty, why do we not enjoy the finest crop available? The answer is, we can enjoy the best of the best. Clovis will host the 2011 Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee on June 18, 2011.
What can you expect at the Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee? How about the finest organic peaches, nectarines, plums, pluots and apricots that Fresno can produce? I used to be in the trucking business, while I worked in that business I had the opportunity to visit some organic fields. Specifically, these were fields that were planted with organic tomatoes and harvested in an organic way. From that day on, I could tell an organic field from a ‘traditional field’ within seconds of looking at the field. To be candid, the organic field appears more chaotic. There are weeds sticking up above the crop and close inspection reveals more insects.
However, the food produced organically will taste twice as good. The flavors are richer, the bitterness is more bitter, the sweet is sweeter, and the experience is better. When organic ingredients are used in a recipe, the richness of the food is amplified by the quality of the ingredients.
The foundation to any dish is the quality of the ingredients. If you want a quality product or meal, then you must start with quality ingredients. Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee is going to happen on June 18, 2011 in Clovis, make sure you stop by 5790 N. Indianola Ave., in Clovis, CA on that date to experience the jubilee and snatch up some quality stone fruit from out valley.

The summer time is visiting a finish The imminent cold and fog is the catalyst for any recent visit to the mountain tops. We'd our boy Hunter a few days ago and that we had talked about returning towards the Merced River. We improvised to shorten the drive and visited Angel Falls near Bass Lake rather. It switched to be an enjoyable experience. We showed up fairly late because I'd never had the experience and that i got lost in route there. You can't leave before you purchase the gas. Area of the reason we showed up as late once we did was because we went right into a problem getting gas in order to Angel Falls. We stopped at 22 mile house to obtain gas for my motorcycle and also the vehicle. (We caravan-erectile dysfunction track of one vehicle along with a motorcycle) I pumped gas for that motorcycle after which drawn up and so i could put fuel in to the vehicle. Hunter wanted some Gatorade and so i went in to the store to cover the gas and also the Gatorade. Angel Falls pictures Levi & Evan The cashier went the credit card and explained it was rejected. I requested him to operate the credit card again because there is lots of profit the account. He went the credit card over and over explained that 'it wouldn't undergo.A Checking the Bank Then your cashier explained which i had already pumped the gas and that i couldn't leave until he will get his money. It is a fact the gas had recently been pumped since the relaxation from the group was still being using the vehicle plus they pumped the gas the moment he switched the pump on. I did not have another charge card beside me and so i drawn out a company card (every lawyer brings business card printing together swimming because who knows when you will meet somebody that requires a lawyer) and told the cashier 'ok, I'm a lawyer I'll come back and pay out for that gas.' The cashier stated no, you can't leave before you pay for your gas. I requested the credit card and so i could withdraw the cash in the ATM which was within the store. He allow me to possess the ATM card and that i visited the equipment within the store. Bass Lake and Angel Falls Hunter, Levi & Evan I checked the total amount from the account and confirmed that there is nearly 100 occasions just as much profit the account when i was attempting to spend. The issue could be that the Bank desired to charge us a absurd fee to withdraw funds. I figured 'I am not likely to spend six dollars to obtain $30 dollars out, and so i printed the balance and came back towards the cashier. Make certain there's paper within the charge card machine I known as the financial institution to determine that which was wrong using the card. After remaining on hold for any very long time, I had been attached to a manager. The manager explained they often see the transaction for gas for that motorcycle plus they often see the transaction for further gas, Gatorade along with a soda. I described the cashier was saying which i couldn't leave until I compensated the balance. Meanwhile a youthful lady arrived to the shop very troubled. When I was talking with the financial institution I overheard her on the telephone explaining that they locked the secrets to her vehicle within the vehicle. I felt terrible on her because she was youthful and incredibly upset. I understood when I possibly could resolve the problem using the card I possibly could assist the youthful lady out. Angel Falls and Bass Lake north east of Fresno Hunter at Angel Falls The financial institution explained the merchant had received the payment which I ought to call law enforcement since it appeared like these were attempting to keep my card unlawfully. An effort at diplomacy I stuck using the bank and described towards the cashier which i got from the phone using the bank plus they explained the payment have been approved which I ought to call law enforcement. The cashier grew to become furious, he explained to call law enforcement while he hadn't done anything wrong. I attempted to reason with him, I stated 'that is exactly what the financial institution explained to complete. Right it is now all of us and I wish to cope with this issue between us.A I Quickly requested him the way we could settle the problem. Just like I had been asking him the way we could settle the problem he researched at me and stated, 'hold on the minute.' Then your cashier drawn out a roll of paper and began feeding the credit card processing machine. Within a few moments the equipment started printing an invoice. A grin discovered the cashier's face and that he stated, 'paper, it had been from paper.' The cashier handed us a receipt after which requested my company card again. He mumbled something about never knowing if you want an attorney. I handed him my company card and left the shop. swimming at Angel Falls Levi & Hunter Secrets located in the vehicle The moment I left the shop I started searching for the lady who had locked her secrets in her own vehicle. I'd instructed my nephew to try and help her as i was on the telephone using the bank. My nephew had fashioned a wire hook to try and open the vehicle door. I'd some experience opening vehicle doorways with wire hooks and so i required over when i contacted the vehicle. By using my nephew, the youthful lady and something body else I could unlock the vehicle to ensure that the youthful lady might get the secrets to her vehicle. I had been still just a little disgruntle through the delay triggered through the clerk's failure to check on for paper however i was happy which i could assist the youthful lady. Selecting the ultimate destination After we could leave the benefit store we headed in the future toward Briceburg. We stopped a couple of miles in the future to place air inside a tire and revisit our final destination. Bass Lake Levi and Kita The ATM problem postponed our trip for pretty much an hour or so. I calculated that people wouldn't arrive towards the intended place to go for about two hrs. The suggestion is made that people change our destination to somewhere closer. I was about ten miles from Oakhurst at that time and so i checked on the couple of locations that will let us go swimming without travelling to date. We chosen Angel Falls since it was just 45 minutes away. Finally showed up at our destination It had been nearly 4p.m. when we've got towards the parking area in which the trail mind starts. We've got our chips and soda from the vehicle and also the dogs out then headed in the trail. We stopped in the to begin with that appeared as if a swimming hole. It had been type of treacherous since the rocks were slippery. After around an hour in the first swimming hole we left to find Devil's Slide. We hiked for around an hour but never found Devil's Slide. Eventually we made a decision to show back before we went from light. Because it works out we ought to have switched around half an hour earlier. Anything you do, don't hike at nighttime Demons Slide Evan I had been an associate from the Search and Save after i is at senior high school. I'd taken care of immediately several situation of individuals becoming lost during the night. The final 20 minutes in our hike to the vehicle is at almost total darkness. Fortunately nobody fell around the hike to the automobiles. Nevertheless it was pretty dark when we've got back. Water was cold since the supply of water is snow runoff. It had been so cold that none people really swam within the water within the regular feeling of the word go swimming. Essentially just dipped ourselves in to the water. Stopped to refill the tanks We'd a lengthy hike along with a lengthy day overall. In route back from Angel Falls we stopped at Chukchansi Casino to take the buffet. The poultry was tough, the cheese cake was too old to become offered, overall the standard was under expected. The savior for that buffet at Chukchansi was the bread pudding, grain pudding, and also the orange chicken. The tacos were very good and also the relaxation from the Asian fare was fairly decent. Devil's slide near Bass Lake When we've got home I was exhausted. All of us completed early for that evening. And rested like babies. We realize that outings towards the river won't be obtainable in a couple of days. We're fortunate within Fresno because we have the choice they are driving a couple of miles and move away from the town. Thank You For Looking at Fresno Urban
